Returns Policy

You may return items within 7 days of receipt for a refund or exchange, provided the following conditions are met:

  • Condition: Items must be unused, in their original condition, and in their original packaging.
  • Proof of Purchase: A receipt or proof of purchase is required for all returns and exchanges.


2. Non-Returnable Items

Certain items are not eligible for return, including:

  • Final Sale Items: Items marked as final sale or clearance.
  • Perishable Goods: Items such as food, flowers, or other perishable goods.
  • Personalized or Custom Orders: Items that have been customized or made to order.

3. Return Process

To initiate a return:

(i) Request a Return: Contact our customer service team at returns@hakatamarket.com or +27 83 256 8798 to request a return authorization. Please provide your order number and reason for the return.

(ii) Return Authorization: Once your return request is approved, you will receive a Return Authorization Number (RAN) and instructions for returning your item.

(iii) Pack and Ship: Carefully pack the item in its original packaging and include the RAN. Ship the return to the address provided in your return instructions.

4. Return Shipping Costs

  • Return Shipping: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the item is defective, damaged, or an error was made in your order. In these cases, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label.
  • Original Shipping Fees: Shipping fees paid on the original order are non-refundable.

 5. Refunds and Exchanges

  • Refunds: Once your return is received and inspected, we will process your refund to the original payment method within 7 business days. Please note that it may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process the refund.
  • Exchanges: If you wish to exchange an item, please indicate this in your return request. Exchanges are subject to product availability. If the replacement item is of a different value, we will issue a refund or charge the difference as necessary.

6. Defective or Damaged Items

 If you receive a defective or damaged item:

  • Report the Issue: Contact us within 7 days of receipt with a description of the issue and photographic evidence if possible.
  • Resolution: We will arrange for a replacement or a full refund based on your preference and availability of the item.

7. Canceling an Order

If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Orders can only be canceled before they have been processed or shipped. If the order has already been shipped, you will need to follow the return process outlined above.
